Volunteers are the heart of our church family, and we’re always in need of compassionate individuals to support our programs and events.

Eucharistic Adoration
If you are interested in setting up for Eucharistic Adoration or sitting with Our Lord for an hour, we have Adoration every Wednesday from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm over at Holy Cross Church.
If you are interested in setting up for Eucharistic Adoration, that will begin at 12:30 pm before Adoration begins. You will be responsible for
- Turning on the lights.
- To place the Monstrance on the altar
- Placing Our Lord in the Monstrance.
- Lighting the altar candles.
- Putting our Adoration booklets
This responsibility is similar to a Sacristan.
Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion
An Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion will assist Clergy (if no Deacon or other Clergy) is available to distribute Holy Communion to our parishioners.
Altar Serving at HC & OMOS
An Altar Server is responsible for assisting the clergy at our weekend Masses and special Masses. The requirement for being an Altar Server is that you must have made your First Holy Communion.
If you have a child that is interested and has made their First Holy Communion, please reach out to Donna and she will coordinate training with Fr. Justin Miller.
Greeters of Hospitality
A Hospitality Greeter is responsible for greeting parishioners and our guests at our doors for Mass, Funerals, and special Masses.
Greeters are the first people that visitors meet at our doors. Your impression usually will be a deciding factor if they would like to join our parish.
Servant’s Desk at Our Mother of Sorrows
If anyone is interested in working at the Servant’s Desk 15 minutes before Mass, and 15 minustes after Mass, we are always looking for help. You will be greeting parishioners, visitors who come to the desk asking to purchase a Mass Card or Bread and Wine, or ask a general question, or just stop to say hello.
Usher
An Usher is responsible for making parishioners and visitors feel welcome in our parish. An Usher also coordinators who will be bringing up the gifts. Their biggest role is collecting our envelopes during Mass.
Sacristan
A Sacristan is responsible for setting up the Mass. Your responsibilities:
- Unlocking the Church doors.
- Turning the lights on.
- Turning the microphone on.
- Setting up the Clergy’s Vessels.
- Setting out the wine and water cruets.
- Putting out the gifts to be brought up.
- You might assist with the altar servers.
- Assisting the Clergy with any questions.
These are just a few to name. If you are interested, I will train you.
We’re always looking for helping hands to make a difference. Whether it’s one hour or one day, every bit of your time counts.
